Henri Lloyd - Consort RWR Jacket

Henri Lloyd have been making genuine sailing gear for many years - indeed, the intrepid Sir Francis Chichester chose to wear their gear during his pioneering voyage around the world in 1966. Around 20 years later though, dapper Milanese youths reinterpreted some of the look and transplanted it into a rather stylish context. The Consort would form part of a Euro-preppy ensemble, American translated into Italian with 501's, Best Company sweatshirts and Timberland Deck shoes.

The Henri Lloyd Consort RWR Jacket is first and foremost a waterproof sailing jacket. The fact it transcended that purpose says a lot for the eye of original designer Olmes Carretti. Having made his name with brands like Best Company, Carretti brought his unique take on menswear to Henri Lloyd, applying vibrant colours to what were originally purely a functional piece of outerwear.
