Event Report : Lee Originals Launching Event at 707 Jakarta
"Lee Originals are not about setting new trend, they are just rediscovering tradition and the true Lee heritage from a time where jeans weren't a fashion item."
After opening several stores in Jakarta this year under Delami brands, We finally have the chance to get something more special from Lee. Yep, On June 22nd 2011, Lee with 707 Kemang held the launching event of Lee Originals. This Lee Originals collection prove that Indonesia's market is growing quite good this year.
Founded by Henry David Lee in 1889, Lee Jeans (also known as H.D. Lee) is known as one of the three pioneers in the Denim world, alongside with the Founding Father, Levi's, and also with Wrangler. Just like how Levi's is looking back to their vintage archives and then developed the Levi's Vintage Collection, and how Wrangler develops the Wrangler Blue Bells collection, Lee is also known with their beautiful "back to the roots" line, the Lee Originals.
Hosted by Ade Habibie and Max Suriaganda, 707 brings the very limited Lee 101 Vintage Collection. The 101 collection is the origin of Lee's premium denim. It is great to see the 101Z, 101B, 101 Logger, the 1930s, 1934s, etc has entered Indonesian Market, knowing how superb Lee Vintage materials quality is.
With Lee Originals now available in Jakarta, i believe it is possible that Wrangler Blue Bells and Levi's Vintage Collection will also come to Indonesia. The collection of Lee Vintage is available exclusively at 707 Jakarta and their sister store ; Standard Denim Supply Co. (The Goods Dept).

Event Report : King Pins Show, Hong Kong
On June 8th-9th 2011, Our good friends at Sober Denim Co. was invited to the King Pins Show at Hong Kong. If you're wondering what is King Pins Show, here it is :
This year King Pins Show was participated by Kurabo Japan and China, Knitindigo, Cone Denim Burlington, and several Denim Producers from Thailand, India, China, Italy, Korea, and also participated by Lycra, CoolMax and Cordura. This 2 days event was for invitation only, so thank you to Sober Denim Co. for sending us the event report and showing us pictures of beautiful denim such as Kurabo denim and selvage Okayama denim.
Our show is about casual wear. We desire to attract buyers who produce or market sportswear, be it jeans or any casual apparel. Specializing makes the show not just about textiles but a global supply chain. Our first Kingpins had hardware people attend, a laundry attends and today the same exists including chemical companies and fiber companies who have new, innovative products. Kingpins will always specialize in the casual area and seek to invite global players, leaders in their fields so that anyone who produces a casual wear garment will find innovation at our show. That’s a value for our customers.
Kingpins today is a show of 12-15 suppliers, and is always presented in a comfortable setting. We treat all guests as if they were coming to our home. We absolutely believe that Kingpins must feel comfortable to exhibitors and customers. Unlike the other shows that charge for water or a sandwich we feed and serve everyone, which creates a kind peace and calmness to our exhibition. One night of each show we serve a large dinner where everyone has a chance to get together and talk over drinks (NOT CHARGED) and relax to music.

Aqua X Sebastian Gunawan
Its always good to see a beautiful designed bottle. Recently, Indonesian fashion designer, Sebastian Gunawan, teams up with Indonesia's own mineral water brand, Aqua. This project might be inspired by Evian which did a several collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier in the past couple years, but i think this is the time that Aqua should be doing things like this. The bottle looks good and its a must have i guess.

Zero Silence
ZERO SILENCE - Trailer from ZERO SILENCE on Vimeo.
Zero Silence is a documentary project of Swedish filmmaker Jonny Von Wallstrom and journalist Alexandra Sandels. The idea of the movie is to show young people in the Middle East and their frustration with their hopeless situation.Zero Silence is a documentary film about the lives and dreams of young people in the Middle East. Young people who have grown angry over the corrupt regimes they live in and how the world is turning a blind eye to what is happening in their countries. Until recenty there was no way for ordinary people in the Arab world to tell what is happening in their societies.I think this is what happening to us right now where some people are turning away from what is happening in our country.
