Magritte's "the Son of Man"

"The Son of Man" is a painting made by Rene Magritte in 1964. The painting consists of a man in an overcoat and a bowler hat standing in front of a small wall, beyond which is the sea and a cloudy sky. The man's face is largely obscured by a hovering green apple. However, the man's eyes can be seen peeking over the edge of the apple. Another subtle feature is that the man's left arm appears to bend backwards at the elbow.

A.P.C. X Carhartt Capsule Collection

French brand, A.P.C. teamed up with US based Carhartt for one of their 2010 collaboration project. The collaboration seems appropriate, given that both brands strive for basic, genuine designs. Take a look at these collection previews which includes T-Shirts, Railroad Jacket, Shirts and also a couple pairs of Jeans. The items will be available on selected stockist.

Levi's Pioneer Sessions : Passion Pit - Tonight, Tonight

Passion Pit recorded a brilliant cover version of Smashing Pumpkins' track, "Tonight, tonight". This cover was made for the Levi's Pioneer Sessions which also includes She & Him, Raphael Saadiq, John Legend with The Roots, Jason Mraz, The Shins, Nas, and much more on the project. All was awesome but i must say that Passion Pit's cover is great.

"Passion Pit's Michael Angelakos says he was listening to a lot of “softer rock” when he first heard the sweeping Smashing Pumpkins song “Tonight, Tonight,” which was a Top 40 hit for the guitar-driven band in 1996. Main Pumpkin Billy Corgan started his band in the late-’80s in Chicago. By 1991 the group was in the middle of an alternative rock movement based on the buzzing sound and disillusioned spirit of its debut Gish. The band enjoyed further success two years later with Siamese Dream, which then led to its double-album opus Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, which yielded four chart hits. Among them was “Tonight, Tonight,” a song that paired Pumpkins trademarks – Corgan’s high wounded voice, a quiet/loud dynamic – in a dramatic setting replete with stings."

"Passion Pit’s re-crafting of the song strips away some of the ambitious bombast, losing the strings but none of the business. Angelakos’ high voice fits comfortably with Corgan’s lyrics, but instead of a piece of grandiose rock, he’s instead created a synthy underwater symphony."

They have everything you need to customize, repair or alter your denim from embroidery machines, darning machines to a vintage Union Special chainstitch machine for those of you that want their jeans to be hemmed the right way.

It says that at the Levi's Tailor Shop you can also make your own buttons, choose vintage patches, screen print to fully customize your jeans

This is so F-ing cool.

With this 32oz denim, they kinda make a history in the world of Denim. Rumour has it that the 32oz denim will be limited into around 10 pieces only.

Rubrikgroup's "the Denim Market"

Last weekend, on Saturday and Sunday,Rubrikgroup held their first event, the Denim Market.




Denim Market is a 2 days bazaar market which filled with Indonesia's local denim brands. The tenants are Tymps Denim, Ruffneck Jeans, Sober Denim and Vision Mission Jeans. At the Denim Market, those brands are offering special prices for their new products.





Tymps released their Selvage Denims with almost half price cut offs (damn!).
Vision Mission previewed their upcoming products, including the Acid Black, Dry Grey and Vintage Washed.
Ruffneck sells their latest release, with selvage materials, hidden arcuates and rivets.
Sober Denim released their Le Jaune LOT LJ001 collection and previewing their upcoming product's material.


Beside the Denim Market, Aryo and the Blues Guys, Ruby the Band and Made for TV Movie were also performing. This event was also supported by Indonesian Denim Group and KeKun Kemang. Overall this event was amazing. We'll wait for the next Rubrikgroup's Denim Market!
