At first glance, Kanye West and Bob Dylan have nothing in common, but Voxy blog decided to linguistically challenge Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010) and Bob Dylan’s Highway 61 Revisited (1965), crossing, thus, music idioms and different eras.

A closer look to both albums reveals some interesting data: they both talk about love (in a completely different way though, Dylan sings “I wanna be your lover, baby/I don’t want to be your boss”, whereas Kanye admits “Disguising ourselves as secret lovers/We’ve become public enemies“), and they both refer to God and various other religions figures.

Nike Basketball presents "The Black Mamba" movie

With the 2011 All-Star Weekend in LA, a movie called "The Black Mamba" will be premiered this Friday, 19th February, 1:00am EST - hence our Sat Feb 19th, 5pm.

The Black Mamba, staring NBA Star, Kobe Bryant with Kanye West, Bruce Willis and Danny Trejo, is a Nike Basketball production directed by Robert Rodriguez (You know him right? The man who brought you Machete, Sin City, Grindhouse, Planet Terror, etc). The film brings Kobe’s alter ego, the Black Mamba to life in a way that’s never been seen before. As the trailer shows, Black Mamba highlights Kobe’s everyday determination and “fight to the finish” spirit. The film also showcases Kobe as one of the best basketball players in the world, featuring him as a “protector" of basketball as he fights off those wishing to destroy and attack the game.

"Nike’s All-Star Pre-Heat event also unveiled several new colorways of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI including three commemorating neighborhoods in and around the site of the 2011 All-Star Game in Los Angeles. Representing and drawing inspiration from East LA, Orange County and Hollywood, these footwear styles pay homage to the unique sprit of these distinct Los Angeles neighborhoods. Each of the three Kobe VI colors leads a pack of iconic Nike silhouettes including two Hyperfuse and the Air Force 1.

"PARIS — Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton men’s studio director Paul Helbers have some design competition this season. Kanye West, who was sitting front row at the Vuitton show, has designed a line of five LV sneakers. Only one design, above, was featured in the show — a monochromatic midtop with no frills, save for a quilted flap in the back, all the easier to tuck pants into. “The inspiration came from a jacket with a huge collar in the movie ‘Dune,’ ” West says. “Most sneakers focus on the tongue, so I wanted to do something different.” West knows whereof he speaks: he says he has no idea how many shoes he owns, but he does know that he routinely needs to send shipments off to storage. The LV-meets-Kanye kicks will be available at Louis Vuitton stores in June."
