Sakana

Avoiding jakarta's crowded places and spots, last week i went to one of jakarta's japanese restaurant located at Mid Plaza 1 building, Sakana. I remember a friend of mine has recommended this place for a long time ago but i haven't been there until last saturday. Sakana is a restaurant that is brought by Kawano International group (the same that bring you Kado & The Grill) that offers a real authentic Izakaya Dining Experience. Shortly, i love this place and definitely will come here more often for the Saikoro Steak and Hourenso Butter.

*P.S. : There's lot of Japanese here that makes it even more authentic

Oh, and there's a bukkake udon for you if you want.

Don't worry, not "that" bukkake.
The word bukkake is often used in Japanese to describe pouring out water with sufficient momentum to cause splashing or spilling. Indeed, bukkake is used in Japan to describe a type of dish where hot broth is poured over noodles, as in bukkake udon and bukkake soba.

Handpresso Auto - Espresso Machine for Car

Such a weird TV Commercial of Handpresso, the Espresso Machine for Car.

And as usual, funny comments on YouTube :
"My car used to have a white interior, then I got the espresso."
"I ordered just 2 handpressos, just to make sure 1:04+ will happen"
"I love handpresso but i really hate the commercial, it's suck"
"Douche"
"Only Nespresso could turn this into a marketable machine."

La Creperie de Hampstead

Hampstead

On January, me (with my girlfriend & my sister) had a chance to visit one of my dream destination, the city of London. While we were there, we went to this town, Hampstead, cause our friend told us to try the famous Crepe there. A little bit hard to find, since the crepe place is just a little kiosk / stand.

But don't judge a book by its cover. Almost everybody on the town knows this famous little crepe stand. For your information, this little crepe stand is actually have been in the business for over than 30 years. The reason? yeah the information of how great their crepe is no bullshit. It was by far, one of the best crepe i have ever tasted (the crepe suzette). The crepes speaks for itself, the queuing never ends.

So if you are in London, don't forget to stop by at Hampstead area, and stop over this amazing crepe stand, La Creperie de Hampstead. Just ask around, they will lead you to the kiosk.

Thank you Bianca for recommended the place!

Tiramisu Affogato at Go!Curry Jakarta

If you thought that Go Curry (Pacific Place & Cilandak Town Square) is all about Curry, then you are wrong. Alongside their delicious curry and nan pizza selections, they also offer some tempting desserts. One of them is this Tiramisu Affogato. I'm always a big fan of Affogato, and i always love a good tiramisu. So to me, this one is pretty good. You can taste to bitterness from the coffee while still mixed with creamy tiramisu feel

Hiyayakko - Chilled Tofu

Can it be more simple than this? I don't think so. This is such a smart meal if you're looking for something that ain't sweet but light. Super easy to make, just prepare some Silken Tofu, finely chopped Scallions & Grated ginger (If you want), Bonito Flakes and off course, Light Soy Sauce.

Cut the tofu in half. Drain on a dishcloth or paper towel. Set aside in two serving bowls (If you want to share it) and chill well. Top the chilled tofu with scallions, ginger, and Bonito flakes. Season the tofu with soy sauce just before serving.

Light Macaroni and Cheese

Found this "Light Macaroni and Cheese" thing on the net. It says that this mac and cheese is a lighter take on the usual, the secret is using Tofu instead of a lot of cheese. Looks super good!
Here are the recipe below :

Light Macaroni and Cheese (Recipe adapted from thekitchn)
1 pound of pasta shells
1 lb box of silken tofu, drained
2 cups milk (I used whole)
2 tbsp mustard (I used honey mustard)
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper, or to taste
2 tsp cornstarch
6 oz white cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup bread crumbs
parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 375. Grease 9" square baking dish with butter or oil (I used butter).

Bring pot of water to boil to cook pasta. Make sure you salt your water generously, it comes out tasting much better. Cook until al dente. Drain in a colander then set it aside.

In a medium saucepan over medium/low heat, add tofu, milk, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Use an immersion blender break up the tofu until smooth. When it starts to simmer, whisk in cornstarch and shredded cheddar cheese. Keep stirring for a few minutes until it thickens.

Place the pasta into your baking dish and carefully add the sauce, then sprinkle bread crumbs and parmesan cheese on top. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until its slightly browned and crispy. Let rest for 10 minutes.
