The color-block-toe-sneakers is becoming a thing on its own?

Sneaker trends is always changing. Some trends has its own sustainability, such as the clean cut sneakers with minimalistic designs, in least colors as it can be (such as what Common Projects or Ambassadors by Verginia is doing), to sneakers with bold patterns (like what Nike did with their liberty london collections, or with their nike ID upper material options), or even sneakers with artwork / photo print options (like what adidas recently re-introduced). Aside from those, you must be remember how it was when Ronnie Fieg came up with this beautiful 'Salmon Toe' Asics Gel Lyte III? and then when he took that very same idea into his work with Clarks Originals, dubbed the Kildare? (how dumb was Clarks Originals that actually approved this model into production?).

Apparently, these toe color block design has its own thing going-on on the sneaker game. People tried (and still) to apply those unique color blocking thing to their own by customing a pair such as to Nike Roshe Run, New Balance 574, and the most recent are the releases from Adidas, Converse, and Puma.

After seeing several teaser earlier this month, Ronnie Fieg has finally announced a release date for his work of Asics GT II, called the "Ultra Marine". This beautiful pair of Asics which comes in a vibrant ultra marine color upper and aqua stripe detailing is scheduled to drop on June 3rd, 2011.

Sneakers : News : May-Apr 2010

Its been a while since we've seen a "decent" dunks from Nike SB. On May 11th, Nike SB will release their collaboration pair with Dirty Money which includes the Dunks and Blazer and its Brazil exclusives.

You've seen vintage blazers before with the Suede ones (Green, Blue and Red) and the leather ones (Grey/Red, Grey/Black and White/Red, White/Black). For 2010, Nike will releases some suedes in Black and Grey, with some aging treatment to give the blazers a more vintage looks.


After previously designed the Salmon Toe sample, Ronnie Fieg is not done. This time, Ronnie Fieg design the Asics GT Quick with NY Knicks colours. What a brilliant colourway choice.


You know Sneaker Freaker right? Australian magazine that you usually find at Kinokuniya or MyShoes. For their 18th issue, they are showing their "to-be-release-this-year" collaboration with Asics Gel Lyte III called "Alvin Purple" on their magazine cover, and guess what, IN 3D. Wow.

Another Supreme X Vans. This time they did it by using snakeskin material for Oldskool and Chukka. Will be up on sale for US$ 125 for the Vans OldSkool and US$136 for the Chukka.

Other news comes from Carhart who's doing a collaboration with Vans. Amazing simply clean combination between Vans Authentics with Carhart's tanned canvas, suede upper and ripstop materials. This Carhart X Vans is expected to be out in August this year.

It's been a long time since i saw a good colour combination for Asics Gel Lyte. Take a look at this one, Asics Gel Lyte III by Ronnie Fieg, called "the Salmon Toe". Using a Navy Blue upper and combined with salmon coloured and also white accent for the toe and sole.
But don't get too excited with this one. cause it's only a sample pair that never get into production
