BEATFEST 2009 with PHOENIX

August 1st 2009, yep, the second edition of Beatfest who previously succesfully bringing The Whitest Boy Alive and Steve Aoki to Jakarta on Beatfest2008. This year, it is time for French Pop Band, Phoenix. For the opening acts, there were Naif, The S.I.G.I.T. , and Rock N Roll mafia (They all performed superbly good).

Around 10:30 p.m., the Main Show , Phoenix hits the stage. Openng their show with their latest single "Lisztomania", they made the crowds go crazy jumping and sing-along-ing with Bengkel Nightpark's floor gets shaking. They played for about an hour and they perform their songs like "Long Distance Call", "Funky Squaredance", "Girlfriend", "Armistice", "Consolation Prizes", "Love Like A Sunset", "Napoleon Says", etc.

They left the stage and the crowds were shouting for an encore. as Predicted, Thomas Mars and Christian Mazzalai comes back to the stage and then Mars said "We came along from france and we have something special for you" and then they played cover of AIR's "Playground Love". after they played it, Mars asks the crowds to call for Brancowitz and the rest of the gang so they back on the stage. They played another 3-4 songs like "If I Ever Feel Better" and then they end the show with "1901"

Overall, it was an amazing night and they seemed to enjoy performing on that night at Bengkel Nightpark.

Merci Phoenix! Please do comeback.

BeatFest with Whitest Boy Alive & Steve Aoki

Whitest Boy Alive Performing

Steve Aoki on Stage and Step Down to the Crowd

Steve Aoki signing on a Woman's Boobs?damn!
A-volution BeatFest 2008 @ Bengkel Nightpark on 29 nov 08. overall, yeah it's one of the most hippest event on 2008 ! with local artists like Efek Rumah Kaca, Santamonica, Goodnight Electric, DJ Hogi & DJ Dipha and also International Special Guest, The Whitest Boy Alive & Steve Aoki.
I arrived at Bengkel at 10.00 p.m. where The Whitest Boy Alive is about to play. Erlend Oye and his band is playing sooooo perfectly smooth with an incredible performance from all the band members. they play old tracks from their 1st album and some from their Upcoming Album. they also play some track like on the DJ set of Whitest Boy Alive. my favourite moment is when Erlend Oye teach about the basic of Dance Music, where first, Drum Beats, Keyboard kick in, Bass playing, and then we have to move our body.
at about 2.00 a.m. , Steve Aoki hit the stage. it's too bad i'm not there until Steve Aoki is done. but from what i've seen, Steve Aoki is one of the most entertaining DJ in the world. he even brought a "birthday cake looking" cake into stage. (i don't what's that supposed to mean). but yeah, like what he said at his Yard Sale at aksara before, He did Rock the Crowd that night.
It's one hell of a party last night! thumbs up!!
